Abstract

With the development and implementation of digital communication, the academic profession is undergoing a change in the sense that it is potentially always contactable, which has advantages but also potential disadvantages. In this presentation, we aim to problematize and discuss the challenges that this situation raises, considering that autonomy is one of the fundamental elements shaping this situation. The methodology mobilized consisted of a systematic bibliographic recollection of the Scopus and Scielo indexed journals about this subject. Considering that autonomy is one of the fundamental elements that shape the academic profession, this situation raises profound challenges and will potentially imply a reformulation of this dimension of the autonomy of the academic profession.
