Review of: Research Ethics for Social Scientists, Mark Israel, Iain Hay
Main Article Content
Abstract
Research ethics includes the notions of integrity, virtue, confidentiality, ethical behavior and many others. The book Research Ethics for Social Scientists, written by Mark Israel and Iain Hay, has a very clear and organized structure, being composed of nine chapters that approach, as the title suggests, research ethics from different angles. Each chapter is briefly presented with an introduction and ends with the authors' conclusions.
This book looks at the difficulties that social science researchers face in conducting ethical research.
In my opinion, this book does not associate the notion of "research ethics" with a kind of anti-plagiarism activity and the fact of being correct in data collection and recognizing, in research, the ideas and facts discovered by others. It gives the notion "research ethics" more dimensions.
